London Named The Supercar Capital Of The World
It is said England is the motoring capital of the world now its proven. Recently a study which was conducted by Activity Superstore, a driving experience retailer. The study showed that London has the most number of Supercar Brand Mentions in pictures on Instagram. In simple terms London is the place to spot the most number supercars.
For the study Activity Superstore took 12 car manufactures (supercars obviously) and analysed images of them on Instagram of the past 3 years. It showed that based on the location London is the most popular. Moscow secures second place and Los Angeles at third. In total 20 cities have a million and above images of spotting. The Ranking is below and so are the number of mentions. I did expect more from Monaco and Milan.
1 - London - 6.14 Million
2 - Moscow - 5.90 Million
3 - Los Angeles - 4.03 Million
4 - New York - 3.70 Million
5 - Dubai - 3.65 Million
6 - Paris - 3.40 Million
7 - Istanbul - 3.33 Million
8 - Monaco - 2.90 Million
9 - Stuttgart - 2.79 Million
10 - Toronto - 1.88 Million
11 - Miami - 1.76 Million
12 - Berlin - 1.67 Million
13 - Atlanta - 1.28 Million
14 - Hamburg - 1.27 Million
15 - Abu Dhabi - 1.22 Million
16 - Milan - 1.19 Million
17 - Fort Lauderdale - 1.15 Million (got ahead by 1 additional Instagram picture - Literally)
18 - Amsterdam - 1.15 Million
19 - Frankfurt - 1.11 Million
20 - Mexico City - 1.03 Million
However the brands were also analysed based on mentions in pictures and the ranking of the them are below, not to my surprise the most popular is Ferrari, followed by Lamborghini and Porsche settles itself for third place. The rest is:
1 - Ferrari - 52.84 million
2 - Lamborghini - 48.18 million
3 - Porsche - 43.16 million
4 - McLaren - 17.67 million
5 - Bentley - 17.51 million
6 - Bugatti - 16.85 million
7 - Maserati - 11.27 million
8 - Aston Martin - 10.51 million
9 - Pagani - 7.97 million
10 - Koenigsegg - 4.90 million
11 - Hennessey Venom - 0.52 million
12 - Lykan Hypersport - 0.48 million
Personally I believe two brands are missing in the above list that could gather a lot of mentions and they are Audi and Mercedes....I am very curious as to why they are not on the list where as Hennesey Venom and Lykan Hypersport which are car specific models are.
In total there were about 148 million pictures analysed on Instagram. Some photos included multiple brands. To my surprise why did they not analyse DriveTribe’s supercar spotting? It is the social media/media home of motoring.
On the other hand I am jealous of all the people on DriveTribe whom live in the Top 3 cities especially Londoners you do love your supercars and this just proves England is the home of motoring and London is the Supercar capital of the world.
