Looking ahead: What to expect from the 2017 race calendar
Seven weekends and a Motorsport Festival are the key points to emerge from the planning for 2017
ADAC Formula 4 is currently on its winter break, with the preparations for the 2017 season now in full swing. But what are the concrete plans regarding the race calendar itself?
The ADAC stated on their website that they will be focusing on consistency. It means that all five permanent racetracks in Germany - Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Sachsenring, Lausitzring, Nürburgring and Hockenheimring - are expected to be firm fixtures on the 2017 calendar. Above all, the series will also be hosted at two venues outside of Germany, as Austria's Red Bull Ring and Holland's Circuit Park Zandvoort are expected to stay. Whilst waiting for any official annoucements, don't forget that Formula 4 is a support series for the ADAC GT Masters, whose calendar is crucial.

Furthermore, the ADAC have expressed their interest in repeating the Motorsportfestival Lausitzring, which brought GT Masters, DTM and Formula 4 all together in one weekend. Having 67,500 spectators over the event in June 2016 turns out to be a great positive argument for it to go ahead again.
The season opener at Oschersleben has been scheduled for the end of April, with the remaining seven rounds set to be unveiled at a later date.
