Drones can be fantastic things and thanks to this intelligent tech, we can now capture some amazing footage of cars that simply wouldn't have been possible before - unless of course you owned a helicopter or had a huge Hollywood budget.
While they can be amazing tools for creating quality car videos, if they aren't used correctly, they can also be a huge nuisance. Case in point...
This video, captured at Rally Italia Sardegna, shows a low flying drone hovering over Micky's jump on the Monte Lerno stage of the race. Toyota driver Esapekka Lappi, who finished fourth overall in the race, nails the jump perfectly, gets some awesome airtime and then smashes the drone's camera to pieces, on his return back to earth. A costly mistake for the drone's owner!
It's a good thing that WRC drivers have such quick reaction times as this could have been quite dangerous for the driver and his co-pilot. Thankfully this incident didn't cause an accident and it didn't put Lappi off his stride. Maybe next time this drone pilot will be more careful when filming.
