I got an invite to Testdrive the new Ghibli in a town called "Rust". Of course I was doing that, and so here is my impression of this car.

First of all the Stats:

Invite was from Keusch, das Autohaus, Vienna / www.keusch.com

The GranSport edition is 130.000 €, and ~843 € leasing/Month ( and there was an offer if you buy it after the test-drive you only pay 116.900 € )

It has a Sports button for more sound and sharper shifting. It came with an automatic gearbox, and the test car did have Pirelli tires.

The GranSport also has carbon fiber interior and door handle. And a fun gadget is that the windows wind down a little by opening the door and closes up with closing the door.

How was it to drive?

First of all, I know I don't look as I have Millions on my account, but it should not be matter, because I write about my experience. But okay I get it. I was not the customer what they are looking for.

So my first drive in a Maserati was fine.

The Car sounds like a Mountain Lion (Puma) and I think this is great. I was driving a short round from "Rust" to "Schützen" and back. (15-20 min drive time). There is only 100km/h and in the town 50km/h allowed, so I don't get the full power. The Breaks are very sensible. Only a little touch and you break very quick and hard. The automatic gear change was in the lower speed very smooth, up to 80 / 100 the change was a little bit more recognizable but not disturbing. In the corners, it felt very heavy. On the one hand, I thought about it as save on the road, on the other hand, I thought, I don't like the fact it feels that heavy as a sports car.

How was it to sit in the Ghibli?

Well... First of all, I did not like the middle console. It was very wide and I had a little bit of a problem to get my seatbelt closed, because of it. (FYI I have very small hands). The seats were leather, and on a hot day as today, I don't like leather because, I always get sweat on my back, but in the Ghibli, the climatronic was working perfectly so this was no issue. For me to sit a little bit higher so I can see the full road is important. In the Car I was sitting a little bit under the steering wheel as up above and I am 1,71 cm. Maybe there is some seat controlling buttons I did not get to test. Besides that, it was a smooth ride and I always had the feeling to know where the car begins and how wide it is. Parking the car is easily done. It has parking sensors, a back camera, and a distance measurement system.

Conclusion aka Fazit:

It is a nice car to drive for a day or two. But I would not buy it, because with that money I would get a Mustang (49.000 €), and an Abarth 595 (44.000 €) and would be left with more fun for my money.

  • Hey, Sesqua! Loved your article. Never apologize for your English skills, it’s not your native language and you have every right to learn it in peace. I’m not a native English speaker myself, so I use something called grammarly (they have a online grammar checker that is phenomenal) and it helps me tremendously. I hope it helps you, too!

  • I know this car is worse in every way than its rivals, but... I love it more. That's the one I would go for
