It might be interesting, for those not used to driving in winter conditions to know that if you are planning to drive on a twisting road om vinter conditions it can be just as important to maintain the ability to stear and be able to use the brakes on the car as it is to make it go forward.....
That means that you put one snow chain on a front tyre and one in the back on a rear wheel drive car.
If driving on steep down hill slopes with a lot of turns you may even consider the same set up on a fwd car to avoid the back of the car to slide out.
Forgot about that point too. I run just studded tires on the front of my pick up, mostly because I like a bit of over steer in the morning, but stopping on hills sometimes can be a bit of a challenge. No abs either.
