ADVANCED dynamics technology, a boost to safety, comfort and functionality, and trim changes that enhance style and appeal will make the 2020 Mazda CX-9 large SUV an even more attractive option to buyers.

Reinforcing Mazda’s human-centric design approach, the new Mazda CX-9 adds G-vectoring control plus, which adds brake control to help stabilise and return the vehicle to straight-line running when coming out of a turn.

The result is steering that is not only safer, but also puts the driver at ease, providing a more connected feeling. Further enhancing the driving experience, the all-wheel drive system adds the latest iteration of Mazda’s off-road traction assist.

This makes driving on undulating roads easier, preventing tyre slip. Safety and peace of mind when driving at night are improved too, with the addition of an advanced automatic braking system that detects pedestrians in the dark.

Plus, improved adaptive LED headlights offer greater visibility without dazzling other road users. All models also add auto-hold function to the electric parking brake, which holds the vehicle stopped, even if you’ve taken your foot off the brake.

Everyday passenger usage and convenience has been improved, with the addition of a hands-free tailgate that allows you to open and close the boot using a simple kick gesture.

Inside the Mazda CX-9, the centre infotainment screen has been enlarged to nine inches, while in the third row, access has been made safer and easier with the implementation of a switch that tilts the seat forward.

To help children, who are often the ones who sit in the back, easily reach it, the switch is located on the side of the seat cushion. The addition of USB ports further improves third-row functionality.

Simplifying the range, Mazda will replace the Azami LE model with the Azami (dropping the LE), while picking up an improved, smoother, higher-quality feel to its Nappa leather seating, now offered in Walnut Brown or Pure White.

Both options are combined with black to produce a two-tone pattern and with it, a new level of refinement. Exterior changes include a new brilliant dark 20-inch wheel finish and a new bright 18-inch wheel finish.

In line with updates across the Mazda range, the 2020 CX-9 also picks up a new key fob design and updated vehicle badging, both first introduced on Mazda3. The updated Mazda CX-9 is be available at Mazda dealerships, with pricing starting at $45,920 plus on-roads.
