Recently, McLaren officially released a preview video and a preview of the new model of the McLaren 720S. The new model in the preview does not change much in appearance, but we guess from the details of the preview video. This may be the previously exposed McLaren 720S Spider (hood version). According to the preview video, the new car will be officially released on December 8, 2018. The preview video released by McLaren did not show us the details of too many new models, but from the screenshots of the video, the new car is slightly different in detail from the current McLaren 720s. The new model in the video uses a hard-top design, but we noticed that the new car uses a two-layer design at the C-pillar position, and the hollow C-pillar forms an air passage to create a better aerodynamic effect. This design is different from the current McLaren 720S hard top model, which is most likely designed specifically for the convertible model. With regard to the convertible form, we suspect that the new car may use a foldable hardtop convertible similar to the 650S Spider and the 675LT Spider. In addition, the newly designed petal-style five-spoke hub of the new car also has a good visual effect. In terms of power, the new car may adopt the same power tuning as the hard top model. For reference, the current McLaren 720S is equipped with a 4.0T twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a maximum power of 720 hp, a peak torque of 770 Nm, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 2.9 seconds.
