McLaren sells its own Technology Center

The sale of the structure was caused by the economic problems facing the British company

5w ago

Since the beginning of 2020, also due to the global pandemic, McLaren has been in an economic crisis. To try to stem the effects, many employees were laid off and a large loan was requested from the National Bank of Bahrain.

Unfortunately, the funds are still not sufficient to meet the expenses and for this reason McLaren has decided to put its Technology Center up for sale. Designed by Norman Foster and inaugurated on 12 March 2004, the building was entrusted to the Colliers company to sell it for the price of £ 200,000,000.

The conditions of sale include the transfer of the property with an attached leasing contract that will allow the team to remain in the traditional location. The hope is that the situation can improve quickly to prevent McLaren from going on sale as happened with Williams a few weeks ago.

Thanks to Valentina Zanola and Alessandro Renesis for the cooperation
