McLaren Speedtail (BP23) is Said to Hit 62 in 2 Seconds Flat
It's not a record breaking, but dont forget, it will drive two wheels only.
According to a bloke in The Supercar Blog, who claims that they have been given some exclusive update on the upcoming McLaren Hypercar, two versions of the Mclaren Speedtails are being tested. One of which is an all wheel drive variant, and another variant named the "Propulsion", which is thought to be the rear wheel drive one.
Interestingly the two wheel drive version will sprint to sixty in just 2 seconds! To put that into perspective, that's half a second quicker than the all-wheel-drive Bugatti Chiron. As for the all wheel drive configuration, it remains unclear if it'll be any faster. Presumably the extra weight might slow it down. According to the blog, McLaren has stated that the Speedtail will not be chasing any top speed records, and will go all the way up to a modest 248 mph.
The Speed tail will have a setup similar to that of the P1. It'll be powered by Mclaren's 4.0 litre twin turbocharged engine and will have some hybrid assistance. All together Mclarem's flagship performance car will have 987 horsepower, and each horsepower will cost you about 2,550 USDs. Thats 2.5M in case you found the Math a bit complicated...
Only 106 examples will be built, and before you get your paychecks ready, all are already spoken for. According to The Supercar Blog, the Speedtail is expected to Debut in October.

Looks gorgeous...
Still, the McLaren Formula 1 car can do 60 in one second, 60 malfunctions that is...
McLaren really need to stop making a billion hypercar prototypes each hour of a day, and stop making crappy partnerships, and either go back to Mercedes or do the mechanical shit themselves for their F1 car.
True, it's agonising to see them struggle in every race weekend
If you're making cars, with 1/2 the effort, 1/2 the stress, resulting in 10x-100x the income, then which cars are you going to concentrate on?
Very nice!
Can't wait for it's unveil in October!
I look forward to seeing it!
