McLaren's V6 hybrid supercar has entered the final stages of testing
It will be revealed in 2021
Allow us to tell you about a new McLaren supercar and before you say 'it's just another McLaren', think again because the V6-hybrid McLaren we are talking about here will mark the beginning of hybridisation of McLaren's lineup.
The supercar you see above is the High-Performance Hybrid (HPH) series car. It will have a V6 engine coupled with electric motors and it will "deliver astonishing levels of performance" according to McLaren.
This new V6 supercar is based on McLaren' all new platform called McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) and it will sit between the GT and the 720S in the McLaren lineup. MCLA is the structure on which all future McLaren supercars will be built.
Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive said, "This all-new McLaren supercar is the distillation of everything we have done to date; all that we have learned and achieved. This is a new kind of McLaren for a new era, an extraordinary drivers’ car that offers blistering performance as well as an all-electric range capable of covering most urban journeys."
McLaren has said that this new supercar has entered the final stages of testing and have also confirmed that it will be revealed in 2021. We are already excited.
