Meet The 800hp Toyota Prius With A Dodge Demon's Engine
Finally, a Prius made the right way!
What's a good reason to get a Prius? The 'green' benefits? We know that's not true! The aggressive performance? Nope, not quite!
Nick Filippedes, the owner of this particular Prius, found possibly the only reason to buy a Prius: to ride in the HOV lane in New York (being a 'clean vehicle'). This way, he'd be able to drive around the masses of traffic that accumulates in the city. The only thing is, is that the Prius is not a cool car. Whatsoever.
So what does he do? He takes the engine from a Dodge Hellcat, a 4.5 Whipple supercharger, a 6-speed Tremec, and after some heaving and squeezing and pulling out all the 'politically correct' parts, manages to produce an 800whp Toyota Prius on a very conservative tune.
Didn't think I'd see the day.
To match the ridiculous amounts of power, the suspension has been set up and a double frame rail chassis was made for the body to be lowered onto.
Nick says it runs nines at the quarter mile and will probably run eights once it has a more aggressive tune.
Now that's a Prius I would be proud of!
