Having started these articles months ago i always had an aim I wanted to interview a ''proper'' Japanese drifter. Was a long term goal of mine and I suppose a goal towards my trip to Japan that I might know someone int he land of the rising sun, someone I possible go drifting with while I spend 10 days in Japan next year. Facebook is a great tool, myself and Yuichiro have mutual friends so I took the plunge and sent him a friend's request, barely and English and my Japanese not been all that much neither I didn't let that stop me. With the help of google translate and a friend who is fluent in Japanese the interview for this article was on!
Sarah: So, introduce yourself to Drivetribe!
Yuichiro: D1GP driver Yuichiro Takahashi.
Sarah: What age were you when you first got behind the wheel?
Yuichiro: I was 16-year-old
Sarah: What was the next step for you after that?
Yuichiro: To leave the name in the drift of the world
Sarah: What first caught your attention about drifting?
Yuichiro: I was very nervous. However, we received a very good stimulus
Sarah: What age were you then?
Yuichiro: 23 years old.
Sarah: What made you think, I could actually do that?
Yuichiro: Feeling you find your purpose and whereabouts
Sarah:What was your first proper competition car?
Yuichiro: jzx100 chaser
Sarah: Why did you pick the car that you have now?
Yuichiro: Saw the first time liked it.
Sarah: So you've been a spectator and a competitor. Has it good side bad sides etc?
Yuichiro: Run side entertainment, runs always aware of the side to see
Sarah: Best aspect of drifting for you personally?
Yuichiro: Drift for me, it is the best stimulus
Sarah: Whose you best friend(s) you've made through drifting? Why?
Yuichiro: Was able to have alot. In addition to all over the world.
Sarah:Have you got any advise for anyone wanting to get into drifting?
Yuichiro: It is difficult to continue than would do well with sponsors and money
Sarah: Are you glad/happy you got into drifting? Why?
Yuichiro: Happiness was also also grab a dream.
Sarah: One thing you hate about drifting from any aspect of it?
Yuichiro: Nothing.
Sarah:Tell us a random fact about your drifting career to date?
Yuichiro: Taiwan 2006 D1GP license 2014 years formula drift license 2004 ~ 2018 years, Macau, Hong Kong, China, and the United States, the drift, such as Malaysia
Sarah: Endless amount of money for a new car and build what would it be and why?
Yuichiro: Happy with car, without support from sponsors I would not have
Sarah: When it's time for retirement what do you want to be remembered for in the drifting world?
Yuichiro: I want to leave in the memory of my existence
