Here we are with a new Meet the Drivetriber interview, find out my today's guest!

1y ago

It's Friday and this means it is time for a new Meet the Drivetriber interview. If you have no idea of what Meet the Drivetriber is, you can find more information down here.

Today I'm glad to introduce you Cristina, a young and passionate petrolhead, and a terrific and brilliant photo editor! Italian as well as me, Cristina is a Lamborghini lover, as you can see in her “Raging Bull Tribe” and an enthusiast Peugeot owner and lover. She loves to play with the photo editor, creating funny edits in Motoring Photomontages and other hilarious stuff about Clarkson Hammond and May. Cristina is also the leader of Girl in a Petrolhead World, Motorsport Liveries and Italian Motor Passion!

Now, without further ado, let's start our interview!

Where are you from?

I’m from Somaglia, a little town in Northern Italy, lost in the wonderful countryside between Lodi and Piacenza

What do you do?

I am an accountant, I work in a small accounting office near my town. I am really happy with this job, but I’d like to do something car-related

How did you join Drivetribe?

I opened Google Play Store, I wrote “Drivetribe” in the search bar, I clicked on “Install”, waited a couple of minutes, I opened the app, created my profile…that’s all.

Hahaha funny!

Jokes apart, I follow Clarkson, Hammond, and May from nearly 8 years, so I joined Drivetribe as soon as it was online

What’s your favorite tribe?

I don’t have a favorite tribe, every one of them is special in its own way

Where did your passion for cars come from?

Little petrolhead

Little petrolhead

As far as I remember I always loved cars. When I was younger I played racing games with my brother (Colin Mc Rae 2.0, F1 2002, Test Drive Unlimited) and I always watched F1. I think this built a solid base for my passion, however there are 2 main events that changed my life: when I saw a real Lamborghini Countach (I was 8 years old, I stared at it for minutes, my heart was fluttering) and when I discovered Top Gear (I recognized Stelvio Pass on telly while zapping, this is how I met Clarkson, Hammond, and May, that was the beginning of my “learning”)

What's your favorite car?

That’s the hardest question you can ask me…The best thing I can do is to reduce my choice between 3 cars: Peugeot 206 because I learnt how to drive with it, despite its bad reputation in terms of reliability, it makes you smile every time you sit behind the wheel (I renamed it “My Little Rocket”).

The Little Rocket

The Little Rocket

The Lamborghini Aventador (Base model, SV, S, SVJ, ALL OF THEM) because of its combination of beauty, glorious noise, and performance. And finally the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4, because it is the first (and I hope it won’t be the last) Lamborghini I’ve ever driven, as you may have noticed I am in love with Lamborghini, and holding the steering wheel with the raging bull while the mighty V10 roar filled the cockpit, was like living a dream, so the Gallardo must be on my favorite car’s list.

A car that you can’t stand at but everyone else loves?

Every single electric car.

What's your daily drive?

I drive my father’s Peugeot 2008, 1.6L Diesel, 120 HP

Manual or automatic?

Manual forever.

Tell us something funny that's happened to you in a car...

One day an idiot with a BMW X5 was tailgating me, I kept going at my speed trying to ignore his high beams, because I knew that it was a road where Police used to put speed cameras. When eventually he found enough space to overtake me and disappeared. You can imagine how much I laughed when I saw the same BMW X5 stopped on the hard shoulder behind a police car while a police officer was issuing a fine.

Tell us a song you particularly enjoy to listen while driving

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

What are your hobbies?

I have many hobbies, generally, I play Project Cars 2 or Ride 2, sometimes I like to make photomontages and I edit funny videos too. Sometimes I also make car-related drawings, recently I took an ambitious plan: I decided to draw 36 scenes from The Grand Tour, one for every episode, now I’m halfway through the first series.

Do you like Motorsport?

Of course, I love Motorsports, I prefer GT3 categories in both endurance and sprint races, I follow the Blancpain GT series. I used to love F1 in V10 and V8 eras, now I still follow it, but I miss the old days. I also like rally, I think that the most skilled and brave racing drivers are rally drivers. I also follow SBK world Championship, BSB, and MotoGP

Who’s your favorite racing driver?

My favorite racing driver is Michael Schumacher, he’s a big part of my childhood, I remember jumping in front of the telly because “Schumi” was winning. Even if I’m not a Ferrari fan, when it happens to watch old videos, sometimes I do it with tears in my eyes. To complete my F1 drivers top 3, there are Jim Clark and Ayrton Senna. Other racing drivers I like are Colin McRae, Paolo Andreucci, Sebastian Loeb, Alex Zanardi.

Do you like motorcycles?

Yes I love them, especially Aprilia, but I don’t have a license to drive them.

Who's your favorite racer?

Valentino Rossi like Schumacher is part of my childhood, but I like also Johnny Rea, Cal Crutchlow, Loris Capirossi, Marco Simoncelli, Nicky Hayden, Carl Fogarty.

If you have to choose a co-pilot for a rally, who would he be? Clarkson Hammond

What's your favorite kind of road to drive on?

I love the winding roads that go up and down the hills, there are beautiful sceneries, slow corners, fast corners. For the same reason I love also mountain roads, but unfortunately, I didn’t have the occasion to drive on them yet, I always been a passenger.

What do you like the most of Drivetribe?

I like the way Drivetribe involves every kind of petrolhead, there is a Tribe for everything, in my opinion, this is the best Motoring Community in the world, is yet another great idea from Clarkson, Hammond, and May

For today is all, thank you so much to Cristina to be part of this little initiative of mine. I'm very happy to have given you the possibility to know her a little more. Cristina is one of the first persons I talked with here on Drivetribe, thanks to Ben Koenig who introduced us. It was the start of a good and unexpected friendship. I suggest you to follow Cristina, you will not regret it!

  • So wonderful to see this interview. :) Awhile back Christina and I along with several others were planning to put together a radio play. Christina and I along with Brandy Bracken met on line to rehearse lines. She has a lovely velvety speaking voice:) Sadly the project did not get off the ground but it was lovely getting to know her :)
