Meet The Drivetriber - Gabriel Pigere

5w ago

Meet the Drivetriber is back with a new interview, amazing right? Twice in a week, like in the good old days.

For the ones who aren't familiar with this format, Meet the Drivetriber, is a series of post where I ask questions and the volunteer designed victim answer them, simple as that. Anyway, you can find a serious explanation down here.

Today is time to know Gabriel Pigere. Luckily for him, I can't remember if he actually was the person that once asked me if I had a crush on Richard Hammond, because if I were sure I would have been pretty evil with the questions...

Anyway, Gabriel doesn't lead any tribe but he's very active down in the comments section, let's know more about him!

Where are you from?

Hi, I'm Gabriel, I'm 19 and I come from the little city of Chartres in France.

What do you do?

I'm currently on a gap year sipping beer and enjoying life.

How did you join Drivetribe?

I’ve discovered Drivetribe after watching the video about Hammond’s crash with the Rimac on Drivetribe’s YouTube channel.

What's your favorite classic car?

My favorite old car has to be the Peugeot 505 gti, I think it looks mean and I almost bought a non-gti one.

What's your favorite modern car?

Modern car is the Ariel Nomad, must be a blast to drive, I have to own one, one day, if they can build one with the steering wheel at it’s place.

Tell us a car that you can't stand at

There aren’t that many car that I can’t stand at really (except maybe the new Audis designed for 45 years old dads with erectile dysfunction).

I've recently been in France, why everyone drives like a maniac?

Everybody in France drives like a maniac because they ARE.

There's some funny driving rule in your country?

Wait? There are rules for driving?

Tell us something funny that's happened to you in a car

My mom once flipped her 2000 Toyota Yaris Verso while driving on ice when I was 5, nobody got hurt and the car had almost nothing, people came to flip the car back on it’s wheels and we went back home like nothing happened, the car still works today and is my mom daily driver. Sadly it seems my mom like to crash that car a lot.

What do you think of electric vehicles?

I don’t hate electric cars and I don’t love them either. Maybe they are the future, maybe they aren’t but I don’t really understand people that think they have no soul, if you really want something with a soul just ride a horse already. I think I will miss the noise of an engine but if it’s for the better good of future generations I think it’s worth it. It’s just sad that today car companies (even non-electric ones) don’t focus on the pure pleasure of driving.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies are playing video games, making music on my computer and drinking a lot of beer (which I'm currently doing).

Now I should ask what's your favourite beer, and video-game...

My favorite game is Forza Horizon 4 and my favorite beer is the Leffe ruby

Are you a Motorsport fan?

I don’t consider myself a Motorsport fan but I like rally, it’s just amazing to see what everyday hatchbacks are capable of enduring.

Who's your favorite racing driver?

That’s a tough choice I like Michelle Mouton, Collin MacCrash, Sébastien Ogier and Sébastien Loeb but I don’t really have a favorite.

What's your dream road trip?

My dream road-trip would be to go to Pripyat near Chernobyl, believe or not they are hotels and guides for tourists but camping there must be fun.

And what's the best one you did?

Sadly I’ve never done any road trips at the moment but I definitively will in the future.

Tell us a song that makes you want to drive , and a French song either!

Kavinsky – Nightcall and Malaa – Notorious, those two makes me want to cruise at midnight and also Orelsan – Dans ma ville, on traîne, great french song if you want to discover the city of Caen.

What do you think of Drivetribe?

Drivetribe is a great platform that help spread awareness of 45 year old dads that owns Audis and who suffer from erectile dysfunction. No seriously, it’s great. I have encountered a lot of great people like you Valentina on this website and I hope that maybe someday I will meet some of you, maybe even some who wants to come with me at Chernobyl who knows?

Thanks for reading and thanks to Gabriel for the kind words and for taking part in this initiative!

Meet the Drivetriber will be back next week, as usual here on Tribeys, join to be always updated!
