Meet the Drivetriber is back with a new interview, I know it's been a while since the last one, and useless to say I'm terribly sorry for the wait!
If this is the first time you come across this kind of post, down here you can find an exhaustive explanation.
If you are not bothered to open the link, long story short, I ask questions to the people who are part of the Drivetribe community in the purpose to give the possibility to have a closer look at who makes this community great as it is. Meet the Drivetriber is open to anyone because doesn't matter if you are a content creator or just have fun commenting, anyone is important!
Now, without further ado, let me introduce today's guest, Thomas Kim. His name should ring a bell, as he's one of the most prolific content creators around Drivetribe. News, polls and funny posts are his specialities.
He's also an important contributor for Drivetribe France, the tribe dedicated to all the French here on Drivetribe, who can find there contents in their mother language!
Let's start with the questions!
Where are you from?
I'm from France and, more precisely, near Grenoble, a big city not far from the Alps.
What do you do?
I am studying journalism and I would dream of becoming a motoring journalist, obviously!
How did you join Drivetribe?
Funny question! I found Drivetribe thanks to this video where James told us how to become a motoring journalist:
What started your passion for cars?
My uncle loved cars and I spent hours with him when I was a kid. He had a mk2 Renault Clio that he pampered all the time. I also played with him often at Gran Turismo 3. Really good times ;-)
What's your favorite classic car?
My favorite classic car is by far the Mercedes 300 SL which is an amazing vehicle with a fantastic engine and a gorgeous design.
What's your favorite modern car?
My uncle got a Tesla Model 3 Performance. I drove it and I just fell in love with that car! It's unbelievably quick and it's packed with great features!
What's your daily drive?
I got a red mk4 Renault Clio. It's diesel and automatic. Yeah, you might think this is an atrocious combination but I drive a lot so I couldn't buy a sporty car. Plus this is my first car. It's comfortable, reliable enough and very cheap to run. And it's cute to look at ;-)
What do you think about electric cars?
They are great vehicles, as simple as that! They are relaxing to drive but they can be really powerful too. In fact, the main and biggest problem with electric cars - except for Tesla - is the lack of good charging stations (in France). But even that considered, I think my next car (in 5 - 10 years) will be electric :)
Automatic or manual?
I like both. I learned to drive in a manual car so I can drive an auto or a stick car. Manual is great for driving pleasure and auto is great for a relaxing drive.
Tell us something funny that's happened to you in a car.
My uncle with his Tesla. Every time we pass a toll on the motorway, he accelerates like crazy! Fun guaranteed!
Tell us song you particularly enjoy to listen while driving.
Half • alive - Still Feel. It's a piece of catchy music for some reason.
Otherwise, I listen to the radio.
What are your hobbies?
I like drawing landscapes and cars. I like playing mobile video games too like Clash Royale and Brawl Stars. But today, I mainly write on DriveTribe ;-)
What's your dream road trip?
Crossing Europe from Finland to Portugal with an electric car! This might be a great adventure with lots of surprises!
Are you a Motorsport fan?
I'm not really a fan of Motorsport. I admit that this is great entertainment for many people due to the amazing machines but I prefer standard road cars.
Who's your favorite racing driver?
My favorite F1 driver is Lewis Hamilton and my favorite rally driver is Sébastien Loeb.
What do you think of Drivetribe?
Great social network with an incredible community of car fans! I hope DriveTribe will help me become a motoring journalist one day!
Thanks to Thomas for being part of this series! Follow him you wouldn't be disappointed!
Meet the Drivetriber will be back soon, if you are willing to be interviewed, just leave a comment down here!
