Meet the Drivetriber is back after a long break, and it does it with the purpose to grab some attention to the local tribes.
First of all anyway the usual friendly reminder about this series of posts. Meet the Drivetriber is a series of interviews meant to give a closer look at the people who makes this community amazing. Anyone can be part of it, doesn't matter if you are a tribe leader or just like to comment here and there. You can find more info down here.
Drivetribe is various and wide, there's interesting stuff from all around the world, and yes English is the global language whom unificate everyone, but sometimes is nice to read something in our mother language and hear opinions and news from our country, and last but not least get in contact with people that may be geographically close to us.
That's why the local tribes are important, among them we find USA News, Drivetribe Australia, Drivetribe France, Drivetribe India, Polska, Ireland, Greece, Brasil, Belgium, Turkey, Deutschland, Middle East and North Africa, and of course Italia News home of the Italians of Drivetribe!
This week I want to focus my posts on Drivetribe France, the home for all the French people here on Drivetribe. Aurelie Saboureau is the tribe leader, and she works hard posting polls and articles in French obviously. I had the pleasure to meet Aurelie a month ago, and she's one of the loveliest persons ever, I'm happy to help her tribe to grow!
To help her in the task of running Drivetribe France, we find a few amazing users, among them there is Thomas Quintard, who we're going to know a little more today. Thomas is here since the beginning and leads a few tribes A dream and Overdrive Cars, whom shows stories and articles about his dreams and favorites cars, Top Gear : Legacy, about the former and new Top Gear and Extreme racing world, dedicated to Nascar Off-roading and all the most adrenaline Motorsports.
Where are you from?
My name is Thomas Quintard. I am 31 years old. I live in Poitiers (France) where there is the Futuroscope which is a well known amusement park.
What do you do?
Currently, I am doing a management assistant apprenticeship training. I want to work as a management assistant in a small company (that's my goal).
How did you join Drivetribe?
I joined Drivetribe at the very beginning, in December 2016, and thanks to the fact that I followed The Grand Tour on social networks (Instagram, Facebook) and that I also watched, I was able to watch DT's announcement video, and that's where it started for me.
What started your passion for cars?
My passion started when I was 6-7 years old. I loved small cars (Mattel and Hot Wheels) and I dream of driving the same models when I grow up. And this passion has not left me. When I was traveling with my family, I loved watching beautiful cars and I particularly liked (still today) the German and Italian models. And I started looking at car emissions when I was about 10-11 years old. My first show was "Turbo" the French automobile show of reference (for me). Then it was Overhaulin, Wheeler Dealers, Top Gear ...
Have you driven one of the cars you dreamt of driving as a child?
No, unfortunately but I intend to do it : driving a Ferrari F430.
What’s your favorite classic car?
Unquestionably, my favorite classic car is the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 2 « Edizione Finale »
What’s your favorite modern car?
For me, the Alfa Romeo 4C stands out, I love it.
What’s your daily drive?
It is rather classic : it is when I leave home to go to work, and when I go home at night.
I mean, which car do you drive on daily basis?
I drive a 2001 Volvo V40.
What do you think about electric cars?
For me, it is the natural evolution of the automobile, but which suffers from two major flaws that will not make me switch right away : the battery still insufficient autonomy, and the lack of charging devices (it there is a very small number of recharging points for electric vehicles in my area, it is around 2000, it is little).
Automatic or manual?
Tell us something funny that's happened to you in a car ...
One day, I had to bring back several pounds of Roquefort, and I had 300 km to go. And since I was with quite talkative friends who did not like the smelling cheeses, the trip was very relaxing: they did not speak for 300 km !!!
Tell us a song you particularly enjoy to listen while driving
Derek Ryan (Shut Up and Dance)
What are your hobbies?
Cooking, reading, love cinema and TV shows, driving.

Males : Alain Prost and Simon Pagenaud
Women : Abbie Eaton and Danica Patrick
Who would you choose as a co driver for a rally, Clarkson Hammond or
