Meet the Drivetriber - Veoniss Melissa Houston
Here we are with a new Meet the Drivetriber interview! Today guest is rather special, but first of all the usual explanation about this series of posts. Meet the Drivetriber is a series of interviews to the marvelous people of the Drivetribe community, anyone can star in this series, just drop a comment and I'll send you the questions!
Here a more exhausting explanation:
I'm trying to catch up with everyone who signed up for being interviewed, I'm going to reach out everyone soon, thanks for the patience and the support!
Now let's talk about my guest, Veoniss Melissa Houston! You certainly have seen her around, her sharp humor and sassy attitude can't be unnoticed, as well as her great music taste. She leads two tribes, the Drivetribe jukebox and Cars and shoes, that I highly recommend joining!
Also, if you're on Foodtribe, she's very active there, don't miss her posts!
I'm delighted to have her in this series, Veo is a precious friend since a long time now, always supportive and encouraging and funny as hell, I'm very grateful that in that incredible mess the web is, one day I stumbled on her, sure the last years would have been very different otherwise! So, leaving behind my sentimentalism, let's start with the interview!
Where are you from?
Born in New Jersey, lived in South Carolina most of my childhood, until I was 19. Then back to New Jersey. I now reside in Lancaster County, PA
What do you do?
Worked in retail for 15 years, how I survived your guess is as good as mine. On a bit of a hiatus right now, due to medical and life issues.
How did you join Drivetribe?
I joined Drivetribe out of sheer boredom, two or three years ago. I have a deep passion for cars, always have since I was younger. My mom, and uncle always had these nice cars, and motorcycles. My uncle LOVED Harley- Davidson. Owned several. Instead of Barbies I had Hot Wheels. I was the weird girl on the block that never played with dolls. LOL
What's your favorite classic car?
My favorite classic car is the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS. My love for Vintage American Muscle knows no bounds. Pontiac, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. The more vintage the better!
What's your favorite modern car?
My favorite modern car is the Nissan GTR, and I fell in love with the Jaguar Project 8. I am a speed fanatic, I love fast cars.
What's your daily drive?
My daily drive is nothing at the moment, but my next car will be a Mustang, I made a promise to my sister before she passed that I will get one. It will hopefully be a GT 500, and I will call it Diva.
What's your favorite song to listen while driving?
My favorite song, or music to listen to while driving, is anything I’m in the mood for. I can go from 70s soft rock to Black Sabbath to Cardi B, to Frank Sinatra. 60s 70s and 80s rock. But if I had to pick one, it’s Immigrant Song. Led Zeppelin
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies always involve music. And chatting with friends, sightseeing. Makeup, hair and fashion. Shoes too of course. Addicted to car shows, the Velocity channel was bomb back in the day.
Clarkson Hammond or may, what's your favorite?
Clarkson Hammond or May? I love all three equally. But May is special, I cannot figure out why. Those mysterious men. Ugh.
What's your first Clarkson Hammond and May memory?
Clarkson Hammond and May memory? There’s so many. But I would say the one that stands out is Richard getting hurt. Scared the hell out of me, and the world I’m sure.
Tell us something funny that's happened to you in a car
Funny Car Moments? So many to tell, but a lot of them involve my best friends and I freaking people out at stoplights, singing songs at the top of our lungs. There was also the one time where we all stopped at a White Castle one night, and there was this drunk dude standing at the drive thru speaker, yelling his order out, and they were closed for the night. He was getting mad because no one was answering him. I’ll never forget the 4 crave case, 7 sacks of fries, and a diet coke dude. Good times.
What's your dream road trip?
My dream road trip, is cross country. A bunch of friends and I just driving from the east coast to the west. Stopping in each city. Visiting each bar. Leaving a mark. You know, normal traveling things.
Are you a Motorsport fan?
I’m not a die hard fan of Motorsport, but I watch every now and then.
What do you think of Drivetribe?
I think Drivetribe has come a long way, it’s a great little community where car lovers can come together and fight, talk, cry, scream, and bitch about cars. I find it quite entertaining, and I am so glad I joined. Everyone is friendly, I’ve met tons of great people, it’s awesome.
Thanks for reading and thanks to Veoniss for being part of this series!
Meet the Drivetriber will be back Friday, as always here on Tribeys, join the fun, and the tribe!
