Meet the Furrion - the world’s first exo-skeleton racing machine
The enormous and quite frankly scary-looking robotic spider is called the Furrion. It is a human-powered exo-skeleton and, should the world ever succumb to the inevitable zombie apocalypse, you could easily use this to run away from the zombies. Or crush them.
This 3.5-tonne, 4-m tall prosthesis is powered by whatever you ate for breakfast this morning because it relies entirely on the driver’s movements to function. Furrion, which is also the name of the company that built it, says it produces the equivalent of up to 200 hp and at full chat, you’ll be going at 30 kph (around 20 mph).
Furrion also says that any fit person can operate it and while the exo-skeleton is going to enhance each and every one of your steps and movements, it is still up to you to decide how fast you wanna go. Which basically means it is also a gigantic work-out machine.
