Meet the Italianized RAM 1500 - Militem Magnum

I feel like I shouldn't but I want one.

The truck you see here is called the Magnum, made by Militem in Italy. It is based on the RAM 1500 Laramie Sport and it is powered by the traditional HEMI V8 making 401 hp and 556 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed auto. So far so good.

Militem is an Italian tuning company/manufacturer founded in 2017 by Cavauto in Monza, an importer/dealer specializing in American vehicles since the 1980s. They've introduced two cars over the last two years, the Hero and the FERŌX, based on the Jeep Renegade and Wrangler respectively, along with modified versions of the Wrangler JI, JII, JIII and the MY 2018 RAM 1500 pick-up truck, meaning this is their third addition to the line-up. Or seventh, depending on which way you look at it.

So what Militem did was take a RAM 1500 Laramie and Italianize it, starting with leather. There are over 30 square mt of handcrafted leather for the interior, with embroidery and stitching and 14 different combinations of hide. Each vehicle takes over 200 man-hours to build. Inside, you'll also find Alcantara and velour, and an all-new 12-inch infotainment system with Harman Kardon stereo system and updated maps.

There's a new front grille and new 20-inch Black Edition alloys with All-Terrain 35x12,50 R20 Cooper Tires. Militem also fitted a new Black Performance dual exhaust, upgraded suspension and new LED lights. When all is said and done, this is still a truck and that means that the truck can still tow over 7,700 lbs. Approach angle, breakover and departure angle are 23,1° - 27,1° and 28° respectively. Ground clearance is 10 inches. The average owner probably won't do this at all, but knowing that you could if you wanted to feels nice.

The truck also comes with anti-collision alert, lane change warning, 360° cameras, parking sensors and so and so forth, and it also employs something called MDS, Multi-Displacement System. Very clever this, the system basically deactivates four cylinders out eight, when needed, so as to reduce emissions and fuel consumption. At some point in the near future, the truck will also be available as a mild-hybrid with a 48-Volt engine providing an extra 176 Nm of torque and reducing fuel consumption by 10 %.

The truck is available in Diamond Black, Flame Red, Billet Silver and Granite Crystal with a starting price of €88,880.
