Mercedes-Benz releases first official video of the Vision AVTR in motion.

It looks just as stunning on the move as it does sitting still.

At the beginning of 2020, Mercedes-Benz shook the automotive industry with the stunning Vision AVTR concept. This futuristic vehicle was otherworldly in every aspect. It had futuristic styling, mood sensing scales along the back, and a unique method of operation that didn't make use of a steering wheel. The car was like nothing the world had ever seen before.

However the nature of automotive concepts is fickle. They're full of uncertainty and often times immobile. It's never a guarantee that a vehicle close to what's shown will ever become a functioning vehicle.

The Vision AVTR is different.

Mercedes-Benz has not only designed a vehicle that looks stunning, but it actually functions as a vehicle. Take a look.

I wasn't expecting them to ever mention the concept again, so I'm grateful for more content related to the concept. I would hope that one day, 20 years from now, this becomes a production model. Wouldn't that be the day, huh?

I've started a tribe! Check it out below!

  • Concepts tend not to become reality however some of the ideas filter down and end up becoming future styling cues.

Personally I like it as it’s allowed designers to run riot. If they didn’t cars would end up as bland boxes.
