The S-Class is undeniably one of the benchmarks in the limousine market and its latest generation presented two months ago will only confirm this status. Despite advanced technology and omnipresent luxury, the car cannot satisfy an ultra-demanding clientele. This is why the German brand offers an even more luxurious version under the Maybach label.

This variant is now making a comeback on the seventh-generation S-Class. The limousine has the typical Maybach aesthetic attributes. One example is the elegant optional two-tone paintwork with a combination of beige at the bottom and black at the top. The 20-inch rims are unique, as is the enormous vertical slat grille.

The lower area of the radiator grille is chrome-plated, again in a special design. You can see the Maybach badge on the C-pillar. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is getting longer to provide more comfort for the rear seats. The interior is truly impressive with a profusion of stitched leathers.

A wide range of inserts are also available to satisfy even the most demanding customers. Not surprising as this Maybach S-Class will have to face the Bentley Flying Spur and Rolls-Royce Ghost! In terms of equipment, the limousine has an endless list. You can lean over the reclining rear first class seats or the fridge for a bottle of champagne.

In terms of engines, the car has a 4.0-litre V8 with an electric motor developing 503 PS and 700 Nm of torque. This is combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will arrive in dealerships in the middle of next year.

    • I'm not a Mercedes fan at all, but I've always liked Maybachs - and this S-Class Maybach is no exception. Only thing I don't like is that awful dashboard.

    • I really like that—I think they did an amazing job with styling, beautiful car inside and out.

However, I think that “gauge cluster” is awful and looks out of place. It looks like a navigation screen, which is ridiculous, because it is just meant to house a few dials and options lists.
