Orthodox Churches celebrate Christmas 13 days after December 25 because they rely on the Julian calendar. While most Orthodox countries celebrate 'traditional' Christmas as well, January 7 is Christmas Day - and therefore a public holiday - in Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Russia, and the Ukraine. Cheers
