I have been a taxi driver for over 3 years now and one of my biggest consumables is tyres. I have varying finding's from my choices in tyre purchases which have been from budget but mainly middle branded.

I usually opt for a middle of the road tyre on my taxi as I am looking for reasonable cost, durability and performance. I have tried budgets and find that I typically get a few thousand miles more from the middle of the road tyres and for the small increase in price its a worthwhile purchase.

After a chance meeting with a senior employee of Michelin UK we discussed the benefits of a premium brand and the advantages of a Cross Climate tyre, A few weeks have passed and I have now had fitted a set of Michelin CrossClimate tyres to my taxi.

We are going to be running the tyres under real life taxi condition's, The vehicle received wheel alignment once the tyres were fitted and we will be documenting tyre wear once a week and tracking the progress.

I definitely need one of those Michelin man mugs!!!

Running a taxi in and around Mid Wales mean's that I have to tackle very temperamental weather conditions and for that reason I am excited to try this tyre out, The Cross Climate is a full summer tyre with the benefit of being a winter tyre also. They have received an A rated weather performance for wet condition's and they're C rated for fuel efficiency they are also pretty quiet as they only emit 68dB of road noise.

Wheel alignment is vital to tyre life.

Tyre's fitted, Tyre's pressure's spot on, Wheel Alignment to manufacturers specifications and we are go! Updates to follow in due course but I can tell you initial reaction is very good indeed.
