In a press release that somehow went unnoticed by most of the diecast and toy-car collecting community in June of this year, Hasbro announced that they would be partnering up once again with Wicked Cool Toys to bring back the kid-loved and parent's-foot-despised toy car line Micro Machines!

Michael Rinzler, co-president of Wicked Cool Toys, said, "Micro Machines is one of those amazing nostalgic brands that still has appeal 30 years later. There is huge potential to bring it back." Jeremy Padawer, co-president, continued, "Considering recent toy unboxing trends, the brand's multigenerational appeal, and the vehicle category's ripeness for something 'new' again, we believe Micro Machines will be a global phenomenon."

As many of you LaLD'ers know, the love for Micro Machines is still alive and well. The original cars and playsets command quite a decent price on the second-hand market these days, and they're getting harder and harder to find. Especially if you're trying to find ones with minimal-playwear. I can attest to the fact that Micro Machines lived a very hard life as a kid's toy. Maybe even moreso than any Hot Wheels or Matchbox I ever owned.

Now to the part you're all impatiently waiting for. WHEN are we going to finally get our hands on some new Micro Machines? The new line is expected to hit store shelves in the Fall of 2020. Just in time for the holiday season. I know what I'll be putting on my Christmas list next year... ;)

So Tribe, do you still have any Micro Machines from your childhood? Let's some see pics! Or if you don't, share your favorites that you used to have!
