I do not support the drinking & driving, but I like the energy.
The 46-year-old Garbutt man was charged with a number of driving offences following an incident on the weekend. Ingham police were called to Helens Hill Road about 8am on Saturday after receiving information from an off-duty police officer that a vehicle had allegedly engaged in hooning offences. When police arrived, officers spoke with a 46-year-old man, who had allegedly been observed performing numerous burnouts. Police will further allege that the man made threats towards the off-duty police officer. The man was taken to the Ingham Police Station where he allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.236 per cent, nearly five times the legal blood alcohol limit. He has been charged with high range drink driving, wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, driving a vehicle not fitted with a prescribed interlock, drinking liquor while driving, and threatening violence. The man is expected to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court later today
