  • I looked up the CIWS systems common today, and the Goalkeeper system was the only one utilising the GAU-Avenger. The US navy currently uses the phalanx system, which is a smaller calibre than the Avenger (20mm vs 30mm).

    I can't find any evidence of the us using the avenger for naval purposes

  • You said it was used as a CIWS in the USN. I only know of the Goalkeeper System from the Netherlands, where it was used as a CIWS. So my question is, where and in which system was it used by the US Navy?
