Mini GT Makes Good on Promise of Ford GTs, Adds Surprise New Casting
I don't wanna spoil anything, though. Read on.
The last time we saw prototypes of both the road-going 2017 Ford GT and Multimatic GT GTE-Pro castings from MiniGT was around 2018. Now, however, the premium die-cast brand confirms that they'll be releasing it soon, along with the debuting track-spec GT MkII. And that's not all.
But first, an appetizer: MiniGT will be putting out two versions of the Honda S2000, as well as the Bugatti Centodieci and the Chiron-based Vision Gran Turismo car.
It's coming for real.
For the main course, however, we finally see what TSM Models have been concocting on the Ford front, and with the addition of the GT MkII, TSM has quite a lineup coming (possibly) next year. Apparently part of the delay with this set lies with getting data for the GT MkII, holding the progress of their tooling at 40%. Now, they're back on schedule and promising to update us in the coming weeks.
But wait! I did say surprise, so here's MiniGT just casually dropping a prototype of the Corvette C8.R, its first appearance ever in 1:64. Why they showed this off and not the C7.R (whose prototypes we have seen before) is a mystery for another time, but this certainly comes as a pleasant surprise and car worth waiting for.
