Missing Dune Buggy reappears...
The missing Myers Manx dune buggy from the Steve McQueen film The Thomas Crown affair has been found and is in the process of being restored
The disappearance
Bullitt is not just 50 years old this year. The Thomas Crown affair is also 50 it made its debut in 1968 and featured the 1960`s Myers Manx Dune Buggy owned by the very bored Playboy millionaire Thomas Crown played by Steve along with his leading lady Faye Dunaway.

The buggy disappeared shortly after the film came to an end, the legend is that it was shipped to California and stored at United Artists Production Company to be shipped back as it was not as famous as other movie cars, to be returned to them and stored as a prop.
The Buggy
The body was set on a VW chassis and featured a Corvette Corvair six cylinder engine.and could reach speeds of insane power and weighing just a mere 1000 lbs easy to see why the Buggy was more airborne than beach comer. No stunt doubles were used for the scenes, the talent of an experienced driver and a very trusting co-star produces an amazing driving experience for any movie goer.
Restoration in progress
The original Myers Manx is undergoing extensive restoration work, and will be back in the lime light later this year. Bruce Myers who created this car has confirmed it to be the original Dune Buggy from the film and eagerly awaits its return.
