Mitsubishi's 'Ralliart' brand is back!
The company's CEO says they want to bring some "Mitsubishi-ness"
Nearly two decades after Mitsubishi last won the WRC, the Japanese manufacturer is gearing up to bring back their motorsport and high-performance division 'Ralliart', a namesake that's been on hiatus since 2010.
Mitsubishi's CEO Takao Kato openly admitted they're bringing the Ralliart name to make the brand cool again. "For customers who wish to experience our Mitsubishi-ness, we will launch custom-made accessories for our model lineup as well as reentering motorsport events around the world," Kato said.
Mitsubishi only sells four cars in North America, two of which are SUVs, and seven cars in the UK, including the L200 pick-up truck, and let's be honest none of these vehicles are particularly exciting except maybe for the L200 if you're into trucks (I am). Having a Ralliart option and Ralliart accessories and/or high-performance special editions will certainly help restore of the same charm the brand has lost over the years and who knows, they might eventually bring back the Lancer EVO. Fingers crossed.
