It’s official, further to our announcement back in April, DriveTribe has launched Moneybox, our new scheme designed to reward top contributors by paying them a share of our revenues.
Initially targeted at a section of our most prolific and engaging content producers, it’s a scheme that we hope to one day deploy on a wider basis. Importantly, it’s a scheme designed to inspire and encourage all to get more involved, uploading articles, sending videos and sharing high quality photos.
From day one DriveTribe always intended to provide a platform for amateur content producers to showcase their talent – a place where the best articles, videos or pictures could be recognised. As such, the monetary reward supports the contributors who drive the most engagement – reader comments, bumps and video plays.
The first swathe of 50 or so participants really do represent the breadth of our community, every corner of the world and covering a huge range of topics. We’re also pleased to see that in an industry traditionally dominated by men, it includes some stand out female talent, with women representing over 20% of the initial intake.
Jonathan Morris, DriveTribe’s CEO said, “Content and community are at the very heart of our offering, so Moneybox really is about thanking those contributors who give us so much of their time and creative expertise. As we evolve the scheme, we look at other ways to get the community involved, helping them get access to industry events, as well as exploring options for training and support – including from our inhouse editorial and production experts. "
On a day to day basis Moneybox will be managed by our Head of Community and Content, Tim Rodie, who will oversee new applicants to the scheme, while providing insider tips on how to boost traffic and write engaging articles. Tim will also steer our annual DriveTribe awards, an opportunity for all contributors -not just Moneybox participants- to get their content judged by our very own Clarkson, Hammond and May.
If you think you have what it takes to join Moneybox, or if you feel you may have missed out on our initial intake, please let us know here. We’re drawing up a waiting list for further intakes and will always consider ways to fast-stream access for those with the talent, energy and passion to get involved.
