Alfa Romeo is really not doing well in terms of sales and the upcoming restyling of the Giulia and Stelvio will not be able to reverse the situation. European sales in the first half of 2019 were very low, so low that the Tesla Model 3 even sold better than the entire Alfa Romeo range (37,476 units against only 29,059).

Alfa Romeo also sells fewer models than the Lancia Ypsilon alone with its 34,693 units. Europe seems to be more interested in electric cars. Worldwide, sales of the Milanese brand fell by 42% compared to last year. This is explained on the one hand by a sharp decline in China and the United States and on the other hand by the loss of an access model, the small Mito.

July's figures are not encouraging and the target of 400,000 units per year seems definitely out of reach. There is little chance that the redesigned Giulia and Stelvio can cure the poor sales. Their only card to play would be the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid version. Only the future electric SUV Tonale could definitely save the brand, but we will have to wait until 2021 if everything goes well.
