MotoGP Brno: Pole man Marquez 'can fight for victory'
Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez feels poised to challenge for a win on Sunday at Brno regardless of the weather.
Marc Marquez believes victory at Brno is possible on Sunday irrespective of the weather after the Repsol Honda rider sealed pole position in the Czech Republic.
Marquez lapped in 1m 54.981s to take the top spot from Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi by 0.092s, with Dani Pedrosa completing the front row in third on the second factory Honda.
In wet conditions on Friday, Marquez finished second fastest in FP1 behind Johann Zarco and with the forecast looking uncertain for Sunday’s race, the reigning MotoGP world champion is feeling confident whatever the weather.
“It is the best way after the summer break to start the second part of the season. Honestly, this weekend I am feeling quite good with the bike – yesterday on wet and today on dry,” he said.
