MotoGP: Doha Grand Prix Results
The second Grand Prix has finished and here is how it went.
Fabio Quartararo wins the Doha Grand Prix! A week after Maverick Vinales won the Qatar Grand Prix, Fabio smashes the field in the last 5 laps as he goes on to win the Doha Grand Prix in amazing style! Maverick Vinales finished fifth place after challenging for the podium, another good result for Maverick.
Petronas Yamaha have had another poor weekend. Franco Morbidelli finished down in twelfth place after another tough weekend around the Losail International Circuit. Valentino Rossi fought his way to sixteenth after starting twenty first, but he still did not claim any points today.
Francesco Bagnaia finishes as the top Factory Ducati as he crossed the line in sixth place, it looked like Pecco could potentially challenge for a podium, or even the win. But he lacked the late race pace today. Jack Miller looked a fool today, the Australian let the red mist get the better of him after a heated move on Joan Mir, Miller ended up down in ninth place.
The Pramac Ducati squad fired on all cylinders today! The new World Championship leader, Johann Zarco finished the race today in second place, which means Zarco gets two second places in two races. His rookie teammate and the Doha Grand Prix poleman, Jorge Martin, went on to claim his first MotoGP podium as he finished in third place! Martin showed great maturity to lead the majority of the twenty two lap race, but settled for third as he wanted Zarco to get second place to help with his Championship charge!
Enea Bastianini finished in eleventh place for Avintia, another strong ride from the rookie. Luca Marini finished down in eighteenth place today for the VR46 squad.
Alex Rins claimed a brilliant fourth place today after he battled hard with the front runners, he just lacked the last bit of pace to finish on the podium. Joan Mir looked aggressive today, and wound up Jack Miller big time! The reigning World Champion pushed on after being forced wide by the Ducati rider, and he finished in 7th.
Brad Binder gets KTM's first ever top ten finish at Qatar as he finishes the race in ninth place! I bet KTM will be very happy with that result. Miguel Oliveira struggled again today in Qatar. He started off amazingly as he got up to fifth place, but he dropped like a stone and finished down in fifteenth place.
Over in Tech 3. Danilo Petrucci finished the race today, but he was down in nineteenth. Iker Lecuona sadly crashed out.
Aleix Espargaro did ok today again as he gets another top ten finish as he crossed the line in tenth place. His teammate Lorenzo Savadori finished in last of the finishers in twentieth. Maybe this Aprilia has improved, it is still too early to tell.
Pol Espargaro is the top Honda as he crosses the line in 13th place, a massive drop from his 8th place last week. Stefan Bradl claims points again as finishes in a decent 14th place. Repsol Honda will be wanting Marc Marquez back!
LCR Honda have had another shocker. Takaaki Nakagami finishes outside of the points in 17th place. Alex Marquez does not finish the race once again.
Sam Lowes at the double! Lowes makes it two wins in two!
Remy Gardner finishes in 2nd place with rookie teammate, Raul Fernandez, in third.
Rookie Pedro Acosta wins the race from pit lane!
Darryn Binder and Niccolo Antonelli finish on the podium.
