MotoGP releases 21-race calendar for 2022 season, dates of tests shared too

The provisional calendar for 2022 season is here.

MotoGP has shared a 21-round provisional calendar for the 2022 season, as dates for the tests is announced too.

The 2022 MotoGP season will kick-off at Losail International Circuit with the Qatar GP on March 4-6 weekend. It will then move to Asia for the first-ever Indonesian GP on the brand new Mandalika International Street Circuit on March 18-20 weekend.

From there, the circus will travel to American rounds, with Argentina GP on April 1-3, followed by the Americas GP on April 8-10. From there, they will head to Europe, with Portuguese GP up first on April 22-24, followed by Spanish GP on April 30 - May 1.

The French GP takes place on May 13-15, with Italian GP on May 27-29, Catalan GP on June 3-5, German GP on June 17-19, Dutch GP on June 24-26 and Finnish GP on July 8-10, after which they will head towards the summer break for nearly a month.

They will return back on August 5-7 with the British GP, followed by Austrian GP on August 19-21, San Marino GP on September 2-4 and Aragon GP on September 16-18 to end the first leg of the European rounds. It will then head back to Asia.

That leg will start with Japanese GP on September 23-25, followed by Thai GP on September 30 - October 2, Australian GP on October 14-16 and Malaysian GP on October 23-25, as Valencia GP will end the 2022 MotoGP season on November 4-6.

Post the final round, the early 2022 test will take place on November 18-19 at Jerez, with the shakedown scheduled to take place on January 31 - February 2 of 2022 at Sepang. The circuit will also host the first proper test on February 5-6, with the second test taking place in Indonesia on February 11-13.
