MotoGP has announced details of Virtual Race ESports event for March end with most of the current riders competing virtually from their homes.

After the initial wave of ESports races undertaken by independent platforms in single-seater racing section along with F1 joining in with Virtual Grand Prix Series, MotoGP has announced their own Virtual Race programme as #StayAtHomeGP.

It will take place on March 29 at 15:00 (GMT +2). It will be broadcasted on motogp.com, esport.motogp.com and selected TV channels along with social media platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (via both MotoGP and MotoGP eSport pages).

The MotoGP riders will play on the official game developed by Milestone. Among the names mentioned so far via their release of photos, it looks like, they will have top riders like Maverick Vinales, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins and Marc Marquez.

At the same time, young guns like Alex Marquez, Miguel Oliveira, Francesco Bagnaia, Aleix Espargaro, Joan Mir and Iker Lecuona. The full grid though will likely be noted when we get closer to the event but MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi seems to be missing from the list.

Additionally, they also informed that the Video Pass service will be free to view for all until the real racing action begins. It has host of videos which MotoGP fans can view to fill their time while at home amid this coronavirus pandemic.

The also note that they will continue with expanded social media initiatives to engage with the fans. For now, the Spanish GP at Jerez on May 1-3 is supposed to be the first race of the 2020 season but considering the situation in Spain, it is likely to be postponed.
