My Virtual Museum tour of Gosford Classic Cars had us take in several very nice Mustangs, which I thought we'd revisit today, in a bit more detail. See the link below for the Museum Tour.
Mustang #1 is this lovely Red Boss 351, built in 1971.
It is 1 of only 1700 built!
The 351 Cubic Inch Cleveland puts out 330hp through a 4-speed Hurst-shifted manual transmission.
This car has the competition suspension package, disc brakes and power steering.
When the original Boss Mustangs went head-to-head with the Z/28 Camaros, the era of the Muscle Car began!
One last look.. and we'll move on..
Mustang #2 is a 1969, with a 428 CobraJet
The engine bay of this car is really clean!
And the shaker scoop is real!
Mustangs were built between 1969 and 1978, making this a very early example.
And our third Mustang is another '69 Mach 1, in an Olive Green with Gold stripes. I really like this one.
The 428 Cubic Inch (7.0 Litre) V8 Cobrajet was the largest of 4 V8's you could have in a Mach 1 in 1969 - Others were a 351CI Cleveland, a 351CI Windsor, or a 390CI. The Ramair (as seen on the previous car) was an option on the 428.
The Mach 1 was dropped after 1969 because of poor sales.
So pick a Mustang! Which one is your favourite?
