My 924S in mid resto-mod. Doing a 924 Carrera GT tribute car. Going to use the modern 1.8T out of a Audi/VW to account for the original 2.0T VW/Audi motor. Will use the correct dog leg transmission and interior will be custom with plaid interior to emulate the style of the 80’s. Currently waiting on the rear flares and some replica Fuchs to finish the exterior for now. Then I have a hook up for a 924 turbo hood and I’ll try to grind off the vented nose cap and fit it into my car.

  • It does not bolt right in. It requires engine mounts. However, as far as I’ve read the bell housing from the 2.0 924 bolts straight to the back of the 1.8T without an adapter plate.

    • I haven’t gotten my hands on one to start test fitting. But all the forums I read say there is plenty of room. It’s a smaller motor and sheds about 200 lbs.

    • Not to mention more power. I love my 924 but it's standard and quite slow. What's this dog leg transmission you're talking about?
