My Top 5 All-Time Ferraris
REQUIREDAdd a short summary to describe your article
With the recent release of the all new Ferrari Portofino, I decided to throw together a little list showing my all time favorite cars from one of the world’s most famous car brands.
Number 5: Ferrari Enzo
The last great mid engine, V12 Ferrari (imo, of course). Named after the brand’s founder, Enzo Ferrari. Powered by a 6.5L N/A V12, making 650 HP, giving the Enzo plenty of speed and a noise to die for. A total of 349 Enzos were built, with an asking price of $650,000 back in 2003.
Number 4: Ferrari F40
This maybe a bit of a shocker, but hear me out. I love the F40, ever since I layed eyes on it for the first time, it was mind blowing to me. Then after hearing what it was capable of, with it’s 2.9L, 478 hp V8, I was shocked even more. But after watching Doug Demuro’s review of it, I realized how basic it is. Now that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I like to mess with things, I get very bored, very easily. For that reason, that is why the F40 sits at number 4. But it does sound pretty lovely. (Note that for whatever reason I can't post the link down for any of the sound clips. Sorry about that)
Number 3: Ferrari F12 tdf
This is about as mental as Ferrari V12s get I think. With it’s 6.3L V12, making a whooping 770 hp at 8,500 rpm, with a redline that goes all the way to 8900 rpm! But every car has it’s downsides, and I am not a huge fan of the looks. But everything else about the tdf is insane and I love it. Compared to the V12 in the enzo, it makes it look like a kitten purring and the tdf is a Hyena laughing.
Number 2: Ferrari 458 Speciale
At number 2 sits a very important Ferrari. Mostly because this is the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari ever built. It’s successor, the 488 GTO (that’s just a temporary name) will likely be turbocharged and hybridized. It’ll lack that zing of revving a free breathing V8 to 9000 rpm, it’ll make more power, obviously, but it’ll be too much for a car of that type. (Back to the Speciale:) Using a 4.5L, 9000 rpm, near 600 hp V8, this is the most extreme version of the 458. It is the best looking of the 458 family, I think, but it isn’t quite enough to get it to the number one spot however. But here’s one making some noise
Number 1: Ferrari 430 Scuderia
This is my favorite all time Ferrari for a couple reasons. The first being a couple years ago I got a hot wheels one (which I still have btw) and fell in love with it. It was the king of all my hotwheels cars at the time, and it was one that I used the most often. Fast forward about 5 years or so to the Ferrari of Salt Lake city dealership, and I got to see one in person. Granted it was a 16M spider, but it was amazing none the less and I got to see just how beautiful these things are in person. (Also they have a Laferrari there now)
The Blue 16M on the right is the one I got to see, but the top was down, it was soooo much better in the flesh
