I thought twice about writing this article as I'm a selfish bugger and didn't want to give my golden tip away. That said, it's for everyone's benefit if DriveTribe sees an increase in traffic and quality.
3.5m views - 12k members. This tip works.
use facebook!!!!!!! (but only like this)
I can't emphasise this one enough. If this is the ONLY tip you take from this article, it should be enough. Are you listening carefully? OK - here goes.
Log in to facebook. Whatever your tribe niche is, search facebook for GROUPS that are similar in nature.
I really shouldn't be telling you this. Keep it to yourself
For this example I've used drifting. See those member numbers? They're your new audience.
Hopefully you just had that 'eureka' moment when seeing those audience numbers. Join as many popular groups as you can that are related to your subject.
Simply copy the link to your DriveTribe ARTICLE (don't just link to your page, you could ruin it for yourself if you don't tread carefully)
Some of these groups are notoriously cliquey so it may be worth involving yourself in chats and discussions for a few days so you don't look like an opportunist spammer. You can get banned quickly!
not so fast!
Don't go jumping in there, spamming like crazy. Many of these groups have admins. The largest groups require your post to be cleared before it goes up on the wall. So MAKE IT RELEVANT! Limit links to your articles to one every week at the most.
You won't believe the engagement and shares I've had from some of the more popular posts in facebook groups. An April Fool's joke article I posted went viral via facebook groups and has 182,000 views to date.
so what do i write?
It's tempting to just regurgitate clickbait videos as your primary source of content.
It's true that Facebook in particular consumes short, grabby videos far more readily than a lengthy, well thought-through article that can sometimes take hours to write. So it's best to vary your content and if you're a decent writer, release a full-length article on a Sunday evening when people have time to appreciate it fully.
When all is said and done though - the internet and social media is a numbers game. There are plenty of quality websites with quality content that you've never heard of because they don't attract the numbers. So bear that one in mind.
last but not least...
Have fun!
I write because I enjoy it. Whilst writing my April Fool's Day article I was giggling the whole way through. That, and seeing positive feedback from readers is one of the most rewarding parts. So keep having fun, and hopefully the tip above will help more people see your work.
