- Mattel 1/43 '57 Chevy Monster Truck and car - a Hot Wheels Customizers

Mystery SOLVED: Hot Wheels Customizers!

Took me over 1 year to figure this mystery out!!

This is a follow-up to the following article I wrote 7moths ago:

It took me over a year to finally figure out what I had with this red '57 Chevy monster truck that converted into a car I had bought off eBay. The only clue I had was Hot Wheels molded into the bottom of the chassis but I could never find anything similar online. Until one day...

There I was, on eBay, minding my own business when there it was...I couldn't believe it, I was in total shock!!! The answer to my mystery was there waiting to be bought which I quickly did.

I scored this unopened Hot Wheels Customerizers off eBay a few months back.

Next Steps

I'm definitely going to paint or foil all the moldings that are supposed to be chrome on the red car but I'm going to leave the palm tree design alone since it's basically new and totally flawless.

For the black car, the plan is to paint it red with a white roof. Not too sure yet if I'm going to paint any of the accessories or just leave them off. Also, I might attempt to take the chrome engine off the hood and fill and smooth it out...but that could be a LOT of work.....we'll see. Definitely many, many more projects in front of these two.

Thanks for reading 😊
