It means that you are the author and owner of the content unless otherwise stated within the article. It helps original content to stand out in a crowd (which is what Drivetribe is looking for). If a picture/photo or video in your article isn't yours be sure to cite your source (depending on the terms of use, you may need to post the direct link to it).
Oh yeah, the hero image above isn't mine, but it is royalty free (I captioned it with the cited source anyway) - citing sources is good practice!

Example 4 - From Cosmopolitan (for you worldly and fashionable people)

I typically put a by line in the Hero image description. I don't know if this is right, but it looks good.
I would place it right in the article at the very beginning where it can easily be seen. I placed some examples in the commments.
