Never Forget Jeremy's Touching Story Behind the Porsche 928

I'm not crying, you're crying.

In the Top Gear Patagonia special centered around appreciating the V8 engine Richard brought a Mustang, James a Lotus, and finally Jeremy a Porsche. In the usual Top Gear fashion the hosts poke fun at their co-host's picks and then the show cuts to in-car footage of each host justifying their picks. When Jeremy's turn arrives we're met with a touching story that I was not prepared for.

Why do you like a car? Is it the looks? The sound? Maybe even the sensation of driving. There's also a chance that a car played an important part in your life. For Jeremy, the Porsche 928's ability to remain stable at high speeds let him see his father one last time.

Loving a car is a personal choice. It doesn't have to make sense to other people, just you.

  • I was not ready for this. It just hit me in my face with a hammer, this bit.

  • One of my all time favourite moments. Jeremy can perfectly explain what makes a car special. His interview with Eric Bana in love the beast is just awesome too. You can have a car that shit or ugly or slow, but can mean the world to you

  • Remember this, a car is the only thing in life that won't reject you.
