New BMW 3 Series Wagon is Almost Ready for Debut
Still hiding its rear
You can order a new BMW 3 series (G20) sedan now. But if you want more trunk space for family activities on weekend or you are just a wagon lover, the wait is nearly over. The new 3 series wagon was spied again recently, with camouflage covering only the rear.
I have to say the slope of the D-pillar is truely gorgeous. I am no wagon-enthusiast but the way the roofline slowly drops along the body and finally intersect with the waistline caught my eyes like no other wagon before. Like the G20 3 series sedan, those rearlights are narrower and are composed of LED lightbars. The only extra component is the rear wiper. Of course you need that because it's a wagon.
The powertrain will be the same as the new 3 series sedan. The red wagon in the photo is 330i and the black one is suppoed to be the M340i model according to its more agressive front bumper and sportier black wheels. The 330i model will have 2.0T I4 B48 engine making 255hp and 400Nm of torque and the M340i will feature a 3.0T I6 B58 engine making 382hp and 500Nm of torque. 320i wagon is unlikely to be seen, however, there should be diesel or even hybrid models for the new 3 series wagon. All variants will have BMW's famous ZF 8-speed automatic transmission for standard.
I'm sure many of you only care about one important thing: will BMW make a M3 wagon this time? I have no idea but we still have hope, right?
