New F1 Car Launch Dates Ahead Of February Testing
Teams announce the launch dates of their 2018 season car
The 2018 Formula 1 season is due to kick off in a little over 2 months time. Pre-season tests begin in Barcelona on 26th February, and some teams are expected to reveal their 2018 season cars before then.
One of the more interesting reveals will be McLaren F1's new car. Having ditched Honda power for Renault and with initial headaches of actually being able to fit the Renault unit into the car, McLaren will reveal their MC33 F1 car on 23rd February, the week before pre-season testing begins. It is expected that McLaren will reveal their car out in Barcelona, rather than at the British headquarters.

The reveal will come a day after the Ferrari 2018 season car reveal, which will be taking place on 22nd February. The Italian team were the first to set a release date for their 2018 car, back in December, with team principal Maurizio Arrivabene stating that he had no doubt that the team would be competitive in 2018. Ferrari finished second in the 2017 season, 146 points behind champions Mercedes.
Remaining competitive, the German team have revealed that they will release their 2018 W09 car on the same day as Ferrari, the 22nd February. Like in previous years, the Mercedes car will be revealed at Silverstone, where the team will show off the car in test runs and will live-stream the reveal across the internet for all to see.

Finally, Scuderia Toro Rosso are the only other team to have currently released a reveal date for their 2018 season car. Leaving the reveal until a little later, the team will reveal the car on the evening before the first pre-season test, on the 25th February. Toro Rosso will be taking the Honda powered engine ditched by McLaren. Let's hope they don't have the same troubles!
