Introduction

The Ford Focus overall, has been a bit of a boring car to look at, It is one of those car's that you don't really notice if it is there or not. However, the Focus has always been a great car to drive, and with the Focus in it's 20th year, Ford had to do something radical to keep it's customer base happy, and they have. The new Focus was recently revealed in London, a few weeks ago, and it looks like Ford have tried to make the new Focus more daring, than the outgoing Models, More "Cool" and "Younger" than the car's predecessors.

Styling

Ford has tried to freshen and smarten up the new Focus, and they have succeeded with that. The new Focus has a daring and bold new design, and this car (and the newly released Mk8 Fiesta) shows the design direction in which Ford is going.

The Interior

The Interior, has been carried over from the Fiesta, and that is not a bad thing. The Interior looks smart, and up to date with the competition from the other manufactures. My only gripe with the interior, is the large "Stuck on" Screen on top of the Dashboard. I personally think it is ugly, however i can't really knock Ford for this because most car manufactures do this.

Pricing

The range will kick off with the "Style" Which will cost £17,930. There will be various trim levels which will include various features, depending on the one chosen. All of the trims are: Style, Zetec, ST-Line, ST-Line X, Titanium, Titanium X and Vignale. The range will close at the Vignale, Which will cost £26,000.

Performance

The headline petrol engine will be the 1.0 Ecoboost, offered in 84, 99 and 124 power outputs. There is also 2 guises of a 1.5 Ecoboost engine, these produce 148 and 180bhp, depending on the one you go for. There are also some new diesel engines available. These are called EcoBlue. There will be Two 1.5-litre cars with 94bhp or 118bhp and a powerful 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel. The main attraction to the new focus is the driving experience. This is because the focus has always been the hatchback of choice for keen drivers. Hopefully this one delivers.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think the new Focus is Shaping up to be an excellent family hatchback. I guess now is the time to Focus (Pun not intended).

A BRILLIANT FAMILY HATCHBACK.
