New Lamborghini Aventador unveiled at Geneva Motor Show
Today (Monday 4th March) a new Lamborghini model was unveiled at the Geneva - and it has definitely grabbed the headlines on the first day of the Swiss motor show. The new open-top Adventador SVJ roadster will be available in the UK this summer, and will cost approximately £387,988 (including tax) - with production limited to just 800 models worldwide.
The new Adventador will produce 760bhp through a 6.5 litre NA V12 engine (the most powerful in Lamborghini's history), with an approximated top speed of 217mph. It will also feature a unique quick-release carbon fibre roof panel - that can be stored under the bonnet - instead of a traditional electrically folding retractible roof. Lamborghini officials say that the car’s structural rigidity remains unchanged compared to previous models of the Adventador, but it will weigh an additional 50kg as a result of this decision.
The new Adventador also features the latest version of Lamborghini’s active aerodynamics system, which uses automatically operated motors to adjust the carbonfibre rear wing to vary aero loads to achieve either high downforce or low drag. In addition to this, the car has exactly the same side air intakes and fins as the previous models, which both aid cooling and reduce drag.
This new Adventador model is one of two that have just been announced - with Lambo's new Huracan Evo Spyder being unveiled last week. Whether or not these new Lambo models will be successful remains to be seen, but just from these photos alone - I predict that it will be a favourite amongst supercar fans everywhere.
