New Need For Speed News Is Coming
NFS has teased that information regarding more information about an upcoming game is coming.
Yesterday, Need For Speed announced across Social Media platforms some teasers about new game information. On Instagram, they showed a series of images of NFS Heat images featuring a red Nissan 350Z featuring a plate that has the number 510. This is widely believed that this hints to the date of October 5th, 2020. It is also widely believed that the new information will pertain to the rumored upcoming release of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 remastered which has been leaked by a korean website and was briefly listed on Amazon's website. Electronic Arts also posted this on their website:
EA's NFS annoucement
The Countdown reveals that confirms the teaser, whatever it is, will happen on Monday, October 5th, at 12pm EST (4pm GMT, 9am PST). Like I said earlier, the rumors are believed to be a Hot Pursuit 2010 remaster trailer which seems to be like EA's worst kept secret at this point with so many leaks. However, while this could be and is likely the case, there's a possibility it could be a whole new game announcement. I also think there could be something going on for NFS Heat potentially as well and here's why.
1.) Subtle Heat References On the Countdown
The countdown says, "5:10. How did he go so fast? Five ten. 'Call Big Joe's pizzeria on 0800-510-510-510.' There's got to be a way to fix this." I think this could be a slight reference to Joe, the person you play as in NFS Heat's prologue. I also can't think of any other "Joe" in the NFS franchise. Who is big Joe and what does this mean?
2.) Need For Speed's Instagram and Twitter Posts
It's also worth noting the pictures shown by NFS on Instagram and Twitter are interesting. They are interesting and I will also post their captions in the picture description.

This Joe's Pizzeria billboard shown in this photo isn't anywhere to be seen currently in NFS Heat. I've been looking for them since I saw these photos drop.
"Big Joe has to be messing with me. Not sure how he found out. So much effort just to tease me, and I only wanted some pizza." via @needforspeed on Instagram and @NeedforSpeed on Twitter
Notice Big Joe's Pizzeria in the background? I've certainly never seen this before. After going to the location in game (Fort Callahan Safehouse) the Big Joe's billboard isn't there. It's just an empty, white billboard slot.
"They're really onto me. How much time did it take them to get chased by 10 cops on Heat 5? Did they do it on purpose?" Via @needforspeed on Instagram and @NeedforSpeed on Twitter
This is the photo that really made me think this could have something to with NFS Heat. First off, I've never been able to get 10 cop cars to chase me on heat level 5 (the most I've had is 6 maybe 7 cops at once), again this could be a "510" reference Heat Level 5, 10 cops giving chase. There is also another Big Joe's Pizzeria reference on the building on the left. I've checked I checked this spot on the map myself, again, Big Joe's sign isn't there in Heat's current state. The last thing I want to point out, is the fact that the HUD is completely different to current state of NFS Heat. The HUD now looks more like the pre-release HUD with the Icons on the map. See below:
NFS Heat Pre-Release photo
Notice the blue and pink icons on mini-map. They are the same in the 350Z photo and this pre-release photo but there are some other differences. The colors for the Heat level and Nitrous bar are more vibrant in the 350Z photo than the Viper photo.
The point of this is, something big seems to be happening on October 5th for Need For Speed wether it's an NFS Heat update (major or minor), the official reveal of a new NFS game (Hot Pursuit 2010 remastered or otherwise), or both, I'm excited for it and I will be covering the news as soon as it breaks.
