New Rolex models confirmed
New Sub? No Sub? New Hulk? No Hulk?
The way I see it, there are essentially two reasons why people are obsessed with Rolex. One, even though some have been complaining about quality control slacking off a bit in recent times, Rolex watches are robust and reliable. They can take just about anything you throw at them and keep on ticking.
The second reason is that while other brands come and go, in terms of value and hype, Rolex is always there. Any day of the week, any year, you can sell any Rolex and make a profit or, at the very least, you'll get your money back. Rolex watches don't depreciate and these days, if you're lucky enough to be in a position to buy a brand new Rolex from an authorized dealer, you can walk out the door and, perhaps with the only exception of the Datejust line, sell whatever it is you've bought and make a profit.
The Swiss brand has just announced new models, coming September 1st, which is always a big deal even though, as ever, when they say 'new models' what they actually mean is 'old models with tiny upgrades here and there'.
No one knows for sure which new watches are going to be released or what's gonna happen but some believe that the movement in the Submariner will be upgraded for improved anti-magnetic abilities and a bigger power reserve. There are also rumours about the Hulk (green dial and bezel Submariner), some say it's going to be discontinued and some say they're gonna release a gold version of the Hulk. There's also a chance Rolex might be releasing a new Daytona.
I guess we've gotta wait and see and, as a YouTube user correctly pointed out in the comments of a video I've just watched, "Rolex will release new models that nobody can get but everyone will be posting on IG".
