IMSA was the first race to come out and start their championship run with the 24hr of Daytona. This was the year Cadillac came back into the racing scene and aimed their eyes on winning the event to tell the world that they’re not playing around. Guess what? The #5 and #31 aimed well. Taking first and second place at any race is a good way of telling the other guys, “try and top this!” The 24hr of Daytona also saw the likes of F1 driver, Fernando Alonso, dipping his toes in another series because his McLaren Honda car sucked so bad these last three years (yes, including the Indy 500 car) he needs to see if it’s really him, or the cars. Well guys, it’s probably him. Fernando, fellow F1 teammate, Lando Norris, and Phil Hanson placed 38. The reasoning was that this car is also unreliable. That’s three years now that Fernando has been throwing out that excuse now. He may be a great driver, but he’s probably cursed or something.

The 24hr of Daytona was the perfect setup to get the year started right and this wasn’t the only race to start off at Daytona. NASCAR came in strong with a couple warm-up races before giving us some real action and starting their jam-packed schedule of racing. This Sunday we finally saw the Daytona 500 which setup the mood for the rest of the year. New faces will be the new front runners of the year and giving the veterans a challenge, giving us a good mix of the field. Put it this way, the ending of the first and second stages saw heavy carnage with took out, ‘Grandpa’ Johnson, and Donica Patrick; which is fucked up because it was her last NASCAR race. Well whatever, eventually after a good race which had Blaney lead over 100 laps with no incident(last guy to do this was thee Dale Earnhardt), in the end Blaney was involved in a 7 car incident which put Almirola in the lead. Things looked good for Almirola, kept up his pace, finally got lead, held off the pack. Well...he spun himself out guys. He tried blocking Dillon but that backfired so bad that Dillon ended up winning the Daytona 500 almost immediately! Bubba Wallace took an EXTREMELY close 2nd place which is one of the highest places a rookie has ever got in his first race! Hamlin was a couple inches away with third place complaining the Wallace ruined his car. Right out of his car, Wallace, in a post-race interview said Hamlin, ”will have to take some Adderall for that one,” taking a jab at Hamlin who said in a previous interview that some NASCAR drivers may take Adderall to stay focused. Nice. Take the win and show no mercy!

The winning Dillon dab! Now that's how you win NASCAR!

Alright guys here are you standings:

Cadillac is king with 35 points for them, their #5 car, and trio of drivers Alberquerque, Fittipaldi, and Barbosa. The #31 car with drivers, Curran, Nasr, Conway and Middleton have 32 under their belt.

In NASCAR, we have Blaney as the current Championship leader with 58 points, Logano second place with 50 points, and the Daytona 500 race winner Dillon with 47 points. In case you guys are wondering how the race winner isn't the championship leader even though he won the first race of the series, Blaney and Logano won or placed high in both stages of the Daytona race which are basically the first 60 laps of the race. Since they won and/or placed high enough in both stages and also placed high enough in the actual race, they have the most points almost edging out Dillon from the top 3. Still confused? That's cool, it can get confusing. Here's a video that can hopefully explain that:
