Acura has officially confirmed that the 2021 MDX 3-row SUV will debut on October 14th. In the teaser video, the design is shared almost completely, and looks similar to the new TLX sedan. Not only that, but the new MDX might use the same powertrains as the TLX.
Jon Ikeda, the vice president and Acura brand officer says “We’re accelerating Acura’s commitment to Precision Crafted Performance and this fourth-generation MDX is the most ambitious and consequential redesign of an Acura core model in our history,” “This all-new MDX will take us into new territory in terms of performance, prestige and emotional appeal.”
None of the following is confirmed: The 2021 MDX is expected to be powered by the TLX's 2.0 L turbocharged I-4 with front wheel drive standard, and SH-AWD optional. In addition, a performance model might also join the lineup, like a PMC Edition or Type S model.
We will know more about the next-generation Acura MDX the closer we get to the debut date.
